Hand-Painted Wedding & Event Stationery, designed in a creative studio by an artist’s hand

Studio Service Guide

Commissioning an artist to design your wedding stationery is an artistic and collaborative experience. It is a chance to share your ideas, and watch as it’s woven into a concept, hand-painted artwork and then a bespoke stationery suite.

Every project is designed from original, painted artworks that are nuanced, organic and an artistic  representation of both the client’s vision and my creative perspective. Rooted in earthly inspiration, my work is meant to feel chic with an ethereal touch.

Printing & Assembly

  • Clients are welcome to print their stationery independently using the print-ready files provided. For those who prefer assistance with production, the studio also offers optional printing coordination.

With this service, the studio prepares files, communicates with the print vendor, oversees proofing, and manages the production process on your behalf. Printing is billed at the exact cost charged by the vendor, with no markup on printed pieces. A 30% production and coordination fee (based on the vendor’s printing invoice) is added to cover management of the process.

Vendor shipping costs are billed separately at cost. Unless assembly services are added, printed pieces are drop-shipped directly from the printer to you for your own assembly and mailing.

  • Printing on your own can be a straightforward and cost-effective option, especially if you're working within a budget. If you choose to handle production & printing on your own, print-ready files will be provided to you.

Please be sure to clarify if your printer has any print file requirements.

  • For clients who have selected the studio’s printing services, stationery may be shipped to the studio for professional assembly.

Full assembly is $8–$10 per suite, depending on materials used and overall complexity, and includes:

    • Ribbon tying

    • Suite stacking

    • Envelope stuffing

This service ensures a polished, cohesive presentation while removing the time-consuming task of assembling each suite as you prepare for your celebration.

    Additional shipping costs may apply.

If you prefer to assemble your suites yourself, all printed pieces will be drop-shipped directly to you (or your planner), neatly packaged and ready for assembly.

Please note: Envelope sealing, postage, and mailing to guests must be handled by you or your event planner. Olivia Provey Studio does not offer guest mailing services at this time.

  • Each client’s project is allocated a dedicated timeframe based on the project scope, ensuring thoughtful attention and care for every design. Due to the nature of my design process and fully booked schedule, it’s essential that clients adhere to agreed-upon project timelines.

A standard wedding invitation suite typically takes 4–10 weeks from design to delivery:

    • Onboarding & Design: 4–6 weeks, depending on complexity

    • Printing & assembly: 2–4 weeks, depending on production method

Couples usually send invitations 3–6 months before the wedding (or 6–9 months for destination weddings).

    Standard Day-Of Paper Timeline:

Day-of designs, such as menus and place cards, are treated as a separate project due to their unique timelines. These pieces are typically designed closer to the wedding date.

Expect a 3–5 week design process. It's best to allow extra time for revisions and final adjustments. Clients are responsible for printing day-of paper goods (with some special exceptions).

Clients are responsible for communicating their desired deadlines to ensure delivery before their wedding or any required dates.

  • Each hand-painted design I create is the result of a thoughtful balance between collaboration, communication, and artistic freedom. My role is to interpret your inspiration and ideas into a collection of artwork that feels cohesive, expressive, and entirely unique.

I’ll use your mood boards, Pinterest boards, and color palette references to guide my creative process, and will rely on open communication to ensure the stationery I’m designing is truly reflective of your vision.

To keep your project on schedule, please plan to review all design assets within 2-3 days of delivery. Timely feedback is essential—delays in review or response may result in extended timelines and rescheduling fees.

Next Steps

  • Once you’ve had a chance to review the Service Guide, the next step is to schedule a 20-minute Discovery Call. During this call, we’ll talk through your vision for your wedding stationery, review my process in more detail, and address any questions you may have.

  • Before our call, you’ll be asked to share a preliminary mood board, Pinterest board, or a small collection of inspiration images. This helps me understand your aesthetic preferences and the overall feeling you’d like your stationery to convey. It doesn't need to be set in stone, just something to give me a bit of insight!

  • Following our call, you’ll receive a link to the Custom Wedding Stationery Intake Questionnaire. I will use the responses as my guide to provide you a proposal and invoice that accurately reflects your stationery needs.

  • Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll move into the onboarding phase, where you’ll be asked to submit all design questionnaires, copy, and inspiration materials by the dates outlined in your proposal & contract.

  • The creative process then begins with the concept and sketching phase, gradually evolving into the painting and design phase in alignment with your specified project timeline.

For a deeper look into my process and policies, I encourage you to explore the Custom Stationery FAQ and Terms & Conditions.

FAQ’S

  • For each project, I create one cohesive set of original artwork (the amount of painted artwork depends on the scope of the project). These hand-painted pieces are then scanned at high resolution and carefully edited. All text or hand-lettering is added digitally using typefaces to ensure consistency and print quality. From those finalized files, I produce every piece in your stationery suite. You’re also welcome to use the print-ready files I provide if you prefer to handle printing on your own.

  • Custom stationery includes two rounds of edits during the sketching phase and one round of minor edits during the painting phase. The painting-phase edits are limited to color adjustments or adding motifs—the overall composition cannot be changed once painted.

It is encouraged to communicate all imagery and color palette preferences before the sketching phase begins to minimize the need for extra edits beyond the two included rounds. After the allotted round of edits have been used an additional fee of $300 will be charged.

  • While I can draw inspiration from various artists and designers, I will never replicate another person's style. For the best results, your vision should align with Olivia Provey Studio’s signature painted style. As an artist-based studio, every design is a reflection of this distinct style and essence. If you feel this studio may not be the right fit for your desired aesthetic, it’s encouraged that you reach out to one of the many other talented stationery designers whose style suits your vision.

  • Absolutely, it’s required! Sharing inspiration imagery from the start helps ensure we’re a good fit and that I have a clear understanding of your vision. A Pinterest board is so helpful, but you’re also welcome to share images by email.

While I always bring new thoughtful and creative ideas to every project, it’s essential to understand your aesthetic, what you love (and what you don’t), as well as motifs or colors you’re drawn to. If you’d like guidance on how to gather inspiration please reach out.
